This journal is friend-locked, though the locked entries are mostly tedious RL details that would bore most to death in any case. My drabbles, fics and icons are all shown to the public. Friend me if you like, and I will usually friend you back.

The FO banner was made more for fun, anyway.

I've been feeling a little "meh" lately, and in an attempt to cheer myself up, I present to you a slightly more complicated, but very rewarding recipe.

Calling everyone on my friend list for help!

I'm working on a small project concerning what people find disturbing in a book. The question first arose when there were a couple of students objecting to a book being read in a Gen. Ed. English class. And some students in my modern American Lit. class refused to read Beloved. Then, yesterday, the Honors Program retracted its Book of the Semester Being There because of a prolonged sex scene in chapter 5.

The question is interesting, especially in my school where there is a strong Mormon influence. I've interviewed several of my teachers and fellow students, but would like to get a larger and more diverse sample. So please fill out the longish poll beneath the cut. I'm also leaving this as a public entry. Please ask your friends to come and fill it out. Hopefully it'll generate a nice discussion. [/Claw]

It's been a while, hasn't it? I miss posting recipes, though I haven't stopped cooking. That means I now have over 5 recipes in my computer waiting to be uploaded. >.>

Today, I bring you the recipe for an easy fruit tart:

Because I'm on a roll, I bring you one new recipe. :)

I'm very tired, so no introductory note this time. Just a simple recipe of Kimchee pancakes, though easily adoptable to other savory pancakes such as seafood pancakes.

Hee! After much ado, I've finally uploaded the pictures for my second recipe. I'm really encouraged by all the comments and kind words left on my last recipe, so thank you! *feels loved* And, since there had been some concerns about difficult-to-get ingredients, this time I offer a recipe that you can make with the leftover you have in your fridge. ;)

This is my first public entry in quite some time. It feels a little scary, but hopefully it'll be for a good cause.

So, I've promised you all some sort of recipes, and I'm one to stick to my promises. This is how I'm going to do it: below the first cut will be a preface of sorts, that talks about how a Poor College Student (PCS) like me do to maintain a variety of food without going over budget. Then, beneath the second cut will be the detailed recipe with pictures. The final cut will be the recipe itself without the pictures, for the benefit of those who do not have DSL.

After that general BS, let's get started with the Real Thing.

So very pissed at the U.S. Mail Service and the country in general right now. Nothing personal, but heavens. I almost cried at the post office earlier. Should be an indicator of how mad I was.

So today I had a box of chocolates that I needed to mail like three days ago but I only got money today. So I went to the post office and asked for a box. The guy there said yes, they had a box that would fit, but no, it was only for the U.S. Mainland. They didn't have anything for international mailing, which was absurd. Our school has a 1:1 ratio of int. students to mainland students. I took the box anyway and went to the bookstore, where a really nice guy wrapped it up for me and even put a silver ribbon on it. How sweet. I went back to the post office and the lady there said no, you couldn't mail with wrapping paper or ribbons on your package. She suggested me to get another box to put my wrapped box in.

By then I was late for class and really mad. Seeing the murderous look on my face, she relented and said I could mail it if I take off the ribbon and use big duct tapes. I did the former, and asked the lady whether the post office had any duct tape. She said yes, they did, but the duct tape was only for the U.S. Mainland.

That was the point that I snapped and stormed out of the post office.

At least the chocolates are mailed now, with big clear international duct tape I found somewhere. The thing cost me $12, another WTF. It weighs like 3 oz.

I am now: enragedWTF
